In-Character Information
Name: Ratonhnhaké:ton (he also goes by Connor)
Game/Series: Assassin's Creed (III)
Teacher/Student/Other: Other.
Canon Point: Two months, post game. Which means this doesn't include the DLC of Tyranny of King Washington yet. There may be a canon update for that.
Age: 27 (born 1756 and taken from 1783)
Grade Level/Class Taught/Job: Custodian (although, I wonder if somehow he could also do something within the dorms, like patrolling or something along those lines).
Dorm or Living Arrangement: Dorm works!
Personality:
An important thing to note about Connor is that his personality seriously roots from his childhood trauma and how he was brought up to be an Assassin.
Having his mother ripped from his life at a very young age (he was like...five years old) did the most damage. And I mean, some guys (Templar guys) came and beat him up then burned down his village and his mom was burned and crushed alive. This in turn, makes him a mostly serious, mature man who probably acts much older than his youthful looking nature suggests. He's intense and seems to mostly have this emotional wall up. He doesn't like showing weakness in that sense. He's a spirited warrior, passed down from a lineage of Assassins. Those who fight for people to free them from power hungry tyrants. And he surely acts like he has that duty. His goals, once set, are fought for until completion.
Connor generally is very honorable and heroic with a strong sense of morality. And his actions speak as strong as his words, he means what he says and does. It comes straight from his little warrior heart. As intense as the guy is, he's generally a noble sort. He goes out of his way to give a hand to people who need help and would fight to the death in particular for those who he cares for (a big example is how he had fought for his people) as he feels it is his responsibility to do so and protect every solitary innocent. So in this sense, he's pretty chivalrous. As Assassins should generally be. He fights when he needs to and as he's from the war times, he had to fight and kill A LOT to defend himself, his people, and civilians. Killing unnecessarily is daunting to Connor, and ironically is a thing he finds difficult about Haytham in which he seems to be a little less so concerned when it comes to killing. He spoke about freedom of others often, and dislikes those who wish to take power away from the masses. In a modern sense, anyone who would take advantage of another because he/she believed the other was weaker and deserved to be put down. He feels SO STRONGLY about what he believes in it usually ends up in many heated arguments. He had this history with Achilles and also his stupid Templar Grand Master father.
With that said, that kind of heated passion can show how sometimes cocky and arrogant he can be. He wants to think he's skilled enough to handle things on his own and once he feels a certain way about something, he doesn't back down and will fight others on his beliefs. HE'S RIGHT AND YOU'RE WRONG. WANNA FIGHT ABOUT IT?? No really, provoke him enough and he will fight about it. He would test you until the cows came home. It's hard to make him feel differently, and even harder for him to admit when he's being wrong about a certain thing. No matter how disillusioned or painfully idealistic he might sound; or even if his views somehow lead to certain consequences. He usually believes that his views are absolute and those who think otherwise are dead wrong. He's pig-headed this way. But, as there is usually a but to these things, Connor in the end of the day does have a bit of humble in him. He plays down his actions, most of the time deeming them things such as "needed to be done" or "I did what I had to do"...things like that.
When it comes to him being naive, it's not like as you might think a Native American would be since Achilles taught him some things so he can function a little bit better. He's more naive in a way in which he finds things often in black and white. Good is good, and bad is bad; there was no middle. Haytham had pinned almost every moment he had on Connor's ignorance and naivete, but he was hardly swaying. Connor is no different now than then. He harbors a lot of faith in people, no matter what happens; he still harbors it (Note: not saying faith or trust is EVER lost, this is more in a general sense. His trust in others in a specific way usually depends on circumstances and the person). We are talking about the guy who believed the Templars and Assassins could unite and work to a better cause. Or that stopping the tea party meant there was no other way money could be made to buy land. Or when he was accused falsely for being notorious, just tell them the truth right? And they will believe you, right? Through the events in the game, he was also easily manipulated and used. At the end of the game, he was more or less just a bit wiser of the men who fought in the Revolution. So it's still possible to manipulate and use him for personal gain, putting it out there mildly.
He's a bit impatient too, not in a "let's not even be strategic and do things and wing it" but more of a "fuck sitting on my ass, let's DO SOMETHING". He wants to usually take definitive actions to solve problems right away. He hates sitting down and waiting for moments to come. And it's even worse when people tell him it's because "he's not ready for it", that usually pisses him off and initiates Connor's tempers. Why do that when you could be doing so many other things? He wanted to get to his father quick, he wanted to get to Charles Lee quick...but seeing as that hadn't happened for years to come, yeah that didn't happen. Achilles feared that his nature here proved that he was reckless in his thoughts. And well, he was. Is. He tries to usually let nothing stand in the middle of what he wants to do.
Socially, he's weird. No really. He's weird. He's not...terrible at talking to people but there are times he might come off as awkward. He's not particularly good at making friends nor is he about...romance, oh dear god. Idle chit chat isn't his strong suit and the man hardly finds it comforting when people touch him, let alone if someone tries to hug him or something. If you're really showing kindness and Connor knows you a bit and respects you, he probably won't seem so bad at the making friends thing...but. Yeah. Thankfully Achilles taught him basic manners so he won't gawk like you like a drooling monkey or something though. He's just not super ace social butterfly in the slightest and some general manners sometimes go over his head. While it's not like he has a huge temper either, it can be there if you approach him the wrong way. Probably upon first meeting him people might get the impression that the guy has a huge stick up his ass and is rude as all hell. He doesn't...usually mean it. Not usually. He IS a nice guy, promise. You really do just have to suck up and get to know the spiritual kind side of him with a trust that is worth having. Just don't break that trust. Or you won't hear the end of it.
Backstory:
Plot of AC3 in particular.
...That be a loooooooot of talk about Assassins in general.
Following removing the Templar portraits and burning them, and then removing the tomahawk from the outside of his house (in which he was alone in now)...Connor began to contemplate on what to do next.
His father was dead. Charles Lee was dead. Freedom had not been achieved yet. The Homestead, sure, was peaceful enough but with his people's land being bought out...what to do now?
Months pass. Those feelings never left.
He would sleep on it one day...only to awaken in a land that did not involve his house. Or the Homestead. Or the woods he was so familiar with.
Yes, he would awaken in a small patch of woods in FDC. A new venture begins. Of woe and drama, and giant hands for Headmasters.
Anything Else?:
- English is his second language. Therefore, he speaks very proper. "Shall not", "Cannot", "Would not"...so slang is very weak for him. He doesn't speak contractions.
- I will be using a lot of Mohawk/Iroquois references for him since he grew up as a Native American (even though he also has British blood). Things such as he has somewhat animistic beliefs. Other things will come along as brought up.
- With him upon arrival as weapons are a tomahawk, an old fashion pistol weapon (flintlock musket), a bow, and his hidden blade. I promise...he will not get happy with them, hahaha. He's also good at rifles and rope darts. Obviously coming here, he will have a hard time with the very modern and some of the even more experienced weapons. Give him time, he'll learn them.
- Other Assassins he knows:
+ His Brotherhood faction in the colonies: Robert Faulker (who is also the first mate on Connor's ship The Aquila), Deborah Carter, Stephane Chapheau, Jamie Colley, Duncan Little, Louis Mills, Clipper Wilkinson, and Jacob Zenger. Achilles Davenport is also and Assassin and was his mentor, but at this time, he had died.
+ Aveline de Grandpré - a French African Assassin from New Orleans. He had helped her in the past.
- Connor is an ace forager. He hunts like a pro and knows how to fend for himself in the wild. He can set up traps, fish, and has an amazing tracking ability. He knows what's good to eat and not so good to eat. Skinning hides and taking meat...all that gross stuff. This does translate well into his general skills as an Assassin due to this giving him a predatory nature. He's quiet and good at sneaking. He can climb rocks and trees and hop larges distances in order to do whatever it takes to keep himself concealed or make a swift getaway; so this makes him also a capable free-runner with huge fluidity and he runs fast. Also if you're investigating, most likely Connor could be your man. His tracking ability makes him good at finding clues. He's also fair at close combat. Basically born to be a fighter yadda yadda.
- He possesses a rare sixth sense ability known as Eagle Vision. He might use this at times, but I'll try not to do it often.
- All that shit about Assassin's and Templars. Kept completely secret.
- Assume from the time the game ends in translation to Smash, all missions possible were completed. Meaning everything that happens on the side in the Homestead in particular.
- Has daddy issues. Immensely. Stupid Templar dad...weep why could we have gotten along weep why Charles Lee weep. I'm sorry you were right I was wrong about Washington...probably get it now. But Connor had to kill him so. Yeah.
- I mentioned that his name was "Connor Kenway". Technically, this IS his name since he is the son of Haytham Kenway. Although, he actually never adopted it himself and doesn't regard himself that way.
- Warning: Has a huge beef with Washington over what he learned about him burning down his village before (during the Seven Years' War) and nearly burning it again even though Connor's people were neutral during the Revolution (hi and you totes kept this from me, Dad). Though they technically reached some civility by the end, Connor still rather dislikes the man to a certain extent. Just in case anyone wanted to go into a history lesson somewhere...
- Obviously being from the 18th Century, technology is going to go as slow as molasses at first for him. Expect maybe a few kitchen fires and computer problems.
In-Character 1st person sample:
1. DEAR MUN. But I'm sure this is not enough so...
2.
Another thing.
In-Character 3rd person sample:
The dark winter evening. on the frontier just seemed colder as Connor walked through the Boston streets. Some people went about their business by going back into their homes. Others tried to take refuge to the bars and make loud noises that suggested they were having a good old time.
That scene was not for Connor. He had came to the town to meet with Samuel. He had called upon him for business.
He kept his face on the ground, cloak and hood on, unintentionally bonking into a few people who obviously didn't appreciate it. And he would keep moving. Some people even stared.
"Look at his clothes..."
And some people got a glimpse of his face, and saw that he was a Native and would make some comment about that.
"...He must be from the woods, don't you think?" Connor would hear some women gabble like geese on to the markets next to him. Promptly ignored.
Sometimes, some Redcoats would walk on by. And Connor would have to jump in with a crowd or pretend to look at market wares. When they passed it would be back to business. He silently walked around the block into an alley way. Which is where he saw a WANTED poster with a rough sketch of his cloaked appearance among it. He had to rip it off. Just as he did, he felt a shove on his back. A Redcoat, slightly drunk, Connor could smell the booze off his breath. He was silent.
So the guard spoke for him. "You...you're that fellow on those posters. Aren't you?"
He must be out of it since he had so much drink. Maybe out enough that Connor could slip by. "You have the wrong man. I am not who you should be seeking for."
The soldier shook his head. He wasn't fooled. "No...no there aren't no other cloaked bastards around here."
The man was clumsily carrying a musket. In which now he was now point at Connor's face. "I'm going to have to...take you in like the dog you are--!"
"You will do no such thing," Connor quickly said as he tried to think fast and give him some swift punches and kicks without warning. The tussle would have the drunk soldier slumped on alleyway. Alive, but with a large bump he will feel later for sure. No bloodshed here. Not now. Not in the town in which the moment blood was shed, sure enough many guards starting to patrol the night will follow. As much as Connor knew this man could have committed crime after crime, he had to be smart.
Perhaps Connor would be lucky and soldiers will think he passed out from the drink and would be punished for slacking in his duties. He decided that was the road he would take. He left the scene.

Game Series: Assassin's Creed
Canon point: Post-Tyranny of King Washington DLC
CR Reboot (Yes or No): Nope!
Age (If there is a change): Nope!
Grade Level/Class Taught/Job: He's still the janitor.
Dorm or Living Arrangement: Still living with Desmond.
Personality Changes (ie, some characters grow are are different based on where they are taken from. Please list any differences there might be compared to where they were taken before): There's really no difference, the canon update is just for experience purposes. But no real change is done to Connor's character.
History Changes (If any):
Connor would awaken in his manor, with no time having being passed since he left.
Of course, it was easy to adapt to life again, despite Connor feeling that leaving was premature. Incredibly. Putting it lightly.
Basically for Connor, a few months would have passed when he was only gone in Smash time for about three weeks. Business was usual. Connor spoke with Washington one night and after an awkward talks about dreams, Connor was transported into an alternate universe. Connor was never an Assassin in this universe, and his mother never died. But Washington became a tyrannical king who took the Apple for himself and became corrupt, burning down his village and killing his mom (yes, he did see him mom die twice by this point). His people drank drugged Red Willow Tea to make them fight stronger by having them be one with the "animal spirits".
His mother told him "no", but a confused Connor wanted to make sense of this world and had to stop Washington, so he drank the tea.
Three times, he felt the power of the wolf, eagle, and the bear. He was stronger, and he...enjoyed it.
He would have seen others under control of Washington and the Apple, and even reunited with his friend (who was also dead) after getting captured by one of Washington's men (Putnam). But he soon died as well.
After a long fight on ships, through Boston and New York, working with the rebels against Washington led by Thomas Jefferson, and storming Washington's fortress (which was basically a giant pyramid), Connor finally would have slain Washington using his Willow Tea powers.
He went to grab the Apple, and the power...did tempt him at some points, and it tried to then. But he rejected it completely, keeping true to himself, returning to the real world after touching it. Washington rejected it as well, ordering Connor to sink it to the bottom of the sea.
Connor did that gladly, feeling contempt for the Apple, as no one should be able to wield such poisonous power.
He would have returned home, slept, and awaken back at the academy again. Now with a story to tell, as if the place let him experience this just to be able to share it.
